Who runs this site, and what we will not publish

You should know who is talking to you before you weigh anything we say about a safety code.

This is a vendor site

OxySafe Hyperbaric is operated by Hyperbaric Service Pros, a trade name of Mr. Fix All Handyman LLC, based in Tarpon Springs, Florida. We install, service and repair hyperbaric chambers, and we sell the OxySafe air supply system described on this site. We make money if you buy one.

That is not a footnote we are burying. A site about a safety code, run by someone selling safety equipment, has an obvious incentive to make the code sound scarier and more specific than it is. The only useful counterweight is publishing the parts that cut against us, which is why the reference page spends as much space on requirements that do not exist as on ones that do.

We are not an independent body, a standards organization, a certifying agency, or a neutral third-party reviewer, and we do not claim to be. NFPA has not reviewed, approved, sponsored or endorsed this site or the OxySafe system, and no affiliation with NFPA exists.

Rules we hold ourselves to

  1. A number without a source does not ship. Every code requirement on this site carries a section number and an edition. If we cannot cite it, we say it is not published rather than guessing.
  2. We publish the corrections. Our own storefront described OxySafe as holding chamber atmosphere under an "NFPA 99 oxygen threshold." When we checked the text, that threshold turned out not to exist as a limit. The correction is on the front page rather than quietly deleted.
  3. Sources get represented accurately, not selectively. UHMS is the most authoritative voice in this field and it is broadly opposed to home and soft-sided chamber use. We sell into that market. We still quote their actual position rather than mining them for the one line that helps us.
  4. No medical claims, ever. This is gas-handling equipment. Cited research, not medical advice.
  5. Where a competitor's equipment fits you better, we say so. Losing an unsuitable sale is the price of being believed on the others.
  6. No invented reviews, ratings, testimonials or statistics. The installation figures on this site come from our own photographed job records and customer database, and we will show our working if you ask.
  7. We do not reproduce copyrighted code text. NFPA 99 is copyrighted. We paraphrase and cite sections rather than republishing the standard, and we point you to NFPA's own free read-only access rather than mirroring it.
